regulations

  • I love to write, however, I do work a full-time job with many responsibilities so I can sometimes be slow with activity. My number 1 and most important rule is respect, both for myself and others. Absolutely no harassment for replies or any general hatred/bigotry of any kind will be tolerated on this blog

  • I will not under any circumstances follow or write with someone under 18. My blog is private, meaning I will typically only reply or thread with mutuals. I am selective in whom I follow, but please give me a few days to follow back depending on my activity level.

  • Do not feel obligated to match length perfectly with every reply. The length of my writing will vary anywhere from a paragraph to novella, depending on content, muse, or time. I care much more about effort than I care about matching my length..

  • Piggy-backing off the previous rule, I am also not a stickler for formatting either. I have a general aesthetic I like to maintain for my blog, but am very open to writing with partners no matter the type of formatting they use.

  • I am open to writing with any other BG3 characters or OCs. Please share your Tavs & Durges I want to meet them all! At this time, I have a strong preference for in-universe settings, but I am not opposed to any AUs and can typically be sold on any idea. At this time I have no pre-established non-canon verses, my verses only include the various acts of BG3.

  • This is a multi-ship blog and I am always open to shipping in threads. I typically like to discuss this ahead of time or test the waters with a shipping meme prompt. You can also let me know if you are looking for a shipping dynamic by reaching out or my interest tracker (more on this later.) This blog will sometimes contain NSFW content in shipping threads, but it will always be tagged accordingly for smut. I will also typically reach out to shipping partners before a thread escalates in that direction (not including smutty meme asks.)

  • If we are mutuals, please always feel free to send me meme asks or a request for plotting! I will never get annoyed by these things and I love getting to write with people, even if I can be a bit slow activity. My direct messages and discord are always open.

  • Life gets busy and mental health is important. Please don’t ever get offended if I drop a thread, most of the time it is never personal and entirely on me. It does not mean I won’t want to write to you at a later time.

  • My Discord handle is available to mutuals on request! I love meeting people and making friends. I am open to plotting and writing over Discord as well, please never hesitate to ask!

  • I do have mains, however, I do not practice any exclusivity with writing partners or characters. I typically prefer for these relationships to develop naturally and like to have friendships with my mains out of character as well. If you want to be mains, reach out to me or fill out my interest tracker.

  • I have an interest tracker available, however, it is by no means required to write together. If you are interested in filling it out, it is only there to allow me to get a better idea of your muse and what dynamic you are looking for! Help me help you! I want you to enjoy writing together.

  • I write under a default assumption of a morally "good" play-through. These are all major plot points such as saving the Grove, freeing the Nightsong, lifting the Shadow Curse, surrendering the crown to Mystra, etc. With the open nature of Baldur's Gate 3, I realize there are MANY directions the plot can go. If you want to write something specific with a different plot beat, please let me know and I will adjust accordingly. I do also have a verse for God!Gale, but this is not my default version of Gale. Please reach out for plotting in regards to this verse or any of his bad endings.

From a young age, Gale was a prodigy with magic, manipulating magic like a skilled virtuoso plays music. He summoned a tressym, Tara, after his parents refused to get him a kitten. Gale's talent eventually drew the attention of the Goddess of Magic, Mystra, who made him one of her Chosen. Mystra became a teacher, muse, and eventually lover to Gale.Gale, longing to impress his Goddess, begged her to give him access to forbidden levels of magic, which she repeatedly refused. He sought out a tome containing a scrap of Netherese Weave, hoping to impress Mystra by returning it to her. However, when he opened the book, something shot from the book into his chest, and his body became an unwitting host to an extremely destructive Netherese orb. To keep the orb inhabiting and corrupting his body in check, Gale must continually sate it with powerful magical artefacts - if he fails, the orb will detonate, bearing enough destructive power to bring down even whole cities, and Gale with them. As a punishment for his hubris, Gale lost his position as Chosen, and Mystra ceased contact with him.Prior to his abduction by mind flayers, Gale lived in a tower in Waterdeep. He and Tara spent most of their time locating magic items for him to consume. After his abandonment by Mystra, Gale became something of a recluse, and describes himself as having few friends. TRIVIA. 

  • At some point, Gale was mentored by Elminster, who become a friend to him.

  • Gale was an apprentice at the Blackstaff Academy, where he once attempted to steal the famed Blackstaff itself in order to cast a spell.

  • Gale is often the camp cook and dislikes anyone else taking over cooking duties.

  • He enjoys the finer things in life; nice clothes, a good glass of wine, reading, and poetry.

 ACT I.  — verse tag
The Act I verse is any thread that takes place between the very beginning of the game and to the arrival in the Shadow Cursed lands. This will typically be characterized by Gale and his need to stabilize the orb with magical artifacts. This act will conclude with the arrival of Elminster and Mystra's commands to sacrifice himself. ACT II.  — verse tag
The Act II verse is the entirity of the Shadow Cursed lands, facing Ketheric Thorm, and ultimately lifting the curse. Throughout this act, Gale struggles to come to terms with sacrificing himself and he is still generally intending to obey Mystra's commands. This will end with his decision to disobey Mystra and not kill himself. ACT III.  — verse tag
The Act III is the arrival to Baldur's Gate through the ending of the game. Gale becomes fixated on learning more of the Crown of Karsus, convinced that he himself may use it to ascend to godhood. This will eventually lead to a confrontation with Mystra. In a good ending, Gale will ultimately decide to return the Crown to Mystra in exchange for the remove of his orb. POST GAME.  — verse tag
This verse is anything that takes place after the events of Baldur's Gate 3 for Gale's good ending. Meaning he does return the crown to Mystra and in turn, has the orb removed from his chest. Depending on his partner, he may return to Waterdeep (alone or with a romantic partner) and become a professor at Blackstaff. Alternatively, Gale may choose not to return to Waterdeep and instead go where his partner chooses. He is happy in either ending. GODHOOD GALE.  — verse tag
This verse is any thread that includes or generally leans toward the ending in which Gale does pursue the Crown of Karsus and becomes the God of Ambition. This is not my default verse for Gale and I will not engage in this verse without plotting or discussion beforehand. If you prefer not to see any content of Gale becoming a god or heading down this path, I have the tag linked above so you can block it accordingly. These threads will be very few and far between.
